Invisalign Teeth Straightening

Invisalign® Clear Aligners are a set of custom-made clear plastic aligners that are worn on the teeth to gradually shift them into the desired position. These aligners are comfortable, convenient, and virtually invisible, allowing you to discreetly straighten your teeth without attracting attention.

What is the Invisalign Clear Aligner system?

Invisalign® offers a wire-free and bracket-free alternative to traditional orthodontic treatment. The process is simple: slide the aligners onto your teeth and remove them when eating, drinking, or brushing.

Each week, you'll switch to a new set of aligners that gradually guide your teeth to their desired position.

Step

Treatment starts

On the day you begin your treatment, your Orthodontist will conduct a comprehensive clinical examination to reassess your suitability for treatment.

If needed, they may recommend any necessary pre-treatment procedures, such as a thorough mouth cleaning by the Hygienist. Additionally, photographs of your teeth and smile will be taken.

These, along with your detailed 3D scan, will assist our Invisalign® technicians in creating your personalised aligners. Your dentist will then submit your information, and your custom Invisalign® clear aligners will be scheduled for production. Once manufactured, they will be delivered to the dental practice, and an appointment will be arranged for you to collect them and commence your treatment.

Step

Invisalign® collection and fitting

After your Invisalign® clear aligners have arrived at the dental practice, we will contact you to schedule an appointment for fitting. During this appointment, we will provide detailed instructions on how to proceed with your teeth straightening journey.

You will receive a series of Invisalign® aligners to wear according to the provided instructions. While you can manage the aligners at home, we will schedule regular appointments throughout your treatment to ensure that everything is progressing as intended.

Invisalign FAQs

What is the Invisalign system?

Invisalign® Treatment involves wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. Unlike traditional braces, there are no brackets or wires, and you don't have to deal with the restrictions they impose. The aligners are made of a flexible plastic material called SmartTrack™, specially developed for Invisalign® Treatment.

Your Invisalign® dentist will create a customised digital treatment plan that outlines the precise movements of your teeth. The clear aligners are then designed to apply the appropriate amount of force in the right locations at the right times according to your plan. Throughout the process, your Invisalign® dentist will closely monitor your progress and ensure that the aligners fit properly.

What are the benefits of Invisalign treatment?

With Invisalign clear aligners, you have the flexibility to remove them, allowing you to enjoy your favourite foods and drinks during your treatment. You can also easily take them out for regular brushing and flossing, maintaining excellent oral hygiene and ensuring fresh breath. Unlike traditional braces with metal brackets and wires, Invisalign provides a more streamlined experience, typically requiring fewer dental visits for adjustments.

By utilising advanced 3D computer imaging technology, you can visualise your expected results through our optional FREE Smile Visualisation. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive treatment plan that offers a detailed preview of how your teeth are expected to look once your treatment is successfully completed.

Is this a different way to straighten teeth?

For years, dentists and orthodontists have been utilizing removable appliances with success. However, with the integration of Align Technology's 3D computer technology and customized aligners, Invisalign clear aligners have become an effective solution for a wide range of patients seeking straighter teeth. The innovative ClinCheck® software enables patients to visualize their entire treatment plan, from start to finish, even prior to commencing the treatment.

What is the minimum age that patients can be treated with Invisalign?

Experienced Invisalign dentists and orthodontists can effectively utilise Invisalign clear aligners to address malocclusion in a significant number of adults and adolescents seeking an improved smile. If you have a teenager, consult with your Invisalign Provider to determine if Invisalign Teen is a suitable treatment option for your child.

How often should I see my dentist once I have started treatment?

The frequency of Invisalign appointments is usually comparable to traditional braces, but they can be more efficient with shorter chair time since there are no adjustments required for wires or brackets. Generally, patients visit their Invisalign dentist every 4 to 6 weeks to monitor the progress of the treatment and receive the next set of aligners. The specific appointment intervals will be determined by your Invisalign dentist or orthodontist based on your individual treatment needs.

How long does Invisalign treatment take to complete?

The length of Invisalign treatment varies depending on the complexity of the case and is usually similar to traditional braces. On average, treatment can range from 3 to 18 months. Your Invisalign dentist or orthodontist will be able to give you more specific details about the duration of your treatment during your consultation.

Invisalign or Fixed appliances? Which one is best for my teeth?

Invisalign treatment with mandibular advancement is designed for preteens and teenagers who have retrognathic Class II malocclusions in their permanent dentition or stable late mixed dentition. These cases incorporate precision wings as a unique feature integrated into the Invisalign aligners.

Can my children have Invisalign treatment?

Yes, Invisalign treatment is also available for teenagers. Invisalign Teen is specifically designed to meet the unique orthodontic needs of teenagers who want to straighten their teeth. It offers features like compliance indicators and eruption tabs to accommodate the growing teeth of teenagers. However, the suitability of Invisalign for your child can be determined by consulting with an Invisalign Provider or orthodontist who can assess their specific dental condition and recommend the most appropriate treatment option.

Is the treatment painful?

Temporary, mild discomfort may be experienced by some individuals for a few days when starting a new stage of Invisalign treatment and inserting a new aligner. This is a normal occurrence and is often described as a sense of pressure. It indicates that the aligners are effectively moving the teeth gradually towards the desired outcome. This discomfort typically subsides within a couple of days.

Patient Reviews

On time, polite and patient oriented.
The dentist kept you informed about the ongoing procedures at all times and was constantly concerned about my comfort.
When all was finished I could not feel any rough bits or unevenness, that has to be a good sign of a "job well done".
Restored my faith in Dentists, thank you all.
